After school funding for staff? (Standard way for students to get bus tokens?) School advocates and supports healthy alternate transportation such as walking & biking to school.

Need EXTREMELY well defined "hard and fast" schoolwide polices (which align with district and state polices) and a mechanism to develop house-specific polices that enhance the district and state policies.

That said: staff must focus on engaging classroom work and attention to interpersonal climate as the primary strategy to reduce incidence of disruptive behavior.

We need to devise work for students to choose to do with us that will ultimately improve the quality of their lives.

We need to engage our student-volunteers in lively, exciting work. No, not always, but most of the time...

Of course, we need sensible, fair rules applied consistently... but we shouldn't punish a kid for hating a stultifying classroom experience.

Family & Community Involvement / Physical Space

7/15/10 evening meeting (5:00-7:00 pm) with Wilbur Cross High School Community Stakeholders: Family: Parents, Guardians, and Significant Adults

We are restructuring our school so there are more positive connections among adults and our students.
